My name is David Weiss, I am the President and Founder of Thera-PC. I have worked with computers, software and hardware for over 15 years. I honed my skills in such places as Silicon Valley in California, Technology Highway outside of Boston and right here in the Big Apple. I was always fixing computers for my friends and family members and I consider my self "up" on all the latest technology and functionality. Several years ago my home computer acquired a nasty virus. It caused all my desktop icons to disappear and there was no way to do anything with my computer, no Start button, no icons, no nothing!
So what did I do? Just what you did if you are reading this. I went online with my work computer and started figuring out who could fix my computer. I called a family member in another city and asked how it might be fixed. I recieved a thorough answer, but what good would it do me 200 miles away? So I had to find a local computer repair company. I was drawn to an Internet search at Google. I searched for Computer Repair in Manhattan, just like you may have done today. I looked around the page and saw The Geek Squad from Best Buy. I called them and guess what? No answer. So I decided to unhook my heavy, old desktop from the dusty world under my desk and carry it 5 blocks to the store. Lucky me it was drizzling out. I lugged that thing all the way to the line in front of the Geek Squad counter and I waited, and I waited. I put the computer down and waited. Then I was next in line. Then I was leaving. Why? Because the would not fix my virus. Why? Because I had no Restore CD or Windows CD of my own to provide so that they could fix my computer. One hour of wasted time, and no results. Right then in my head I founded Thera-pc.
